Milton Keynes Ladies Volleyball –
Match Report
Our first
match of the season was against Northampton Ladies on Sunday 6th
November at their home venue in Moulton.
Our team
comprised of “old” MK players (Wendy, Jackie, Debbie, Laura and Barbara) and
two new players Emily and Jowita.
The team
played well and our new ladies did admirably, being thrown in at the deep end
and having to learn the rotation as we played! So a big thank you to them and
hopefully it will not have put them off playing in the next match!
The scores
for each set do not truly reflect our performance as we had some really good
rallies before conceding the point. We scrambled well and made some good
pickups but also missed some easy returns. Laura and Debbie, as our middle
players, won us several points blocking and returning some good balls over
the net. Each set we improved out total score so we were heading in the right
direction! However, we did loose quite a few points on one particular service
reception which is something we will have to work on. Northampton played well
and deserved the win.
The final
scores were 9-25, 15-25 and 19-25.
Barbara
was named as our player of the match by Northampton.
Our next
match is at home to Leicester on Monday 28th November at 20:30
